Nowadays it is very common in workplaces, offices and schools which have wi-fi or network to use site blocking. But the same is now being applied in colleges, and it would be meaningful if they would block just porn and stuff but they are also blocking vpn. As we all know, in todays cyber world, vpn is a very important thing for all of us, it works as a shield as we are bound to send personal and banking data through the networks. In that case, it is totally illogical to block VPNs. For the people in such a situation, the only way to use the net safely is through VPSs and gigarock is wonderfully providing its service in this area.

Good topic @"2tathagata" and one that I feel very sensitive about. Last night I was battling with just such a problem. I travel a lot, so sometimes I do PayPal payments in a different country than where my address is. PayPal then won't allow me access to my account. They have no verification procedure - like one's just stuck end of story. All it has is that typical help FAQs that is a complete waste of time. How I previously could work around the travel problem was to use a VPN so that it would match the country where my address is. Last night I discovered PayPal now blocks proxies as well. So very soon I'll have to give up on my PayPal account. Last night after great difficulty I lucked out. Like it wouldn't allow one to access their Website even from a proxy. I then tried to access my account again without a proxy, with same result, then when I went through the account resolution exercise where they give you the option to log in to complain they had an option that they haven't fool proofed yet where by accident I got access to my account - no doubt they'll catch up on it one of these days.

Not only PayPal is like that. All large corporations who arrange their Websites regionally are inflexible in expecting one to only contact one's account from a specific IP. At least the e-mail guys like Yahoo, Hotmail and Google provide an option for verification, but not all of them do. Things are getting so horribly over secure and completely rigid and inflexible, it's difficult to function one's accounts. I'm seriously thinking of ditching my PayPal and using my prepaid Visa Cards only. But even those get blocked when your IP is from a country they don't like. Never you mind you are a visitor in that country. Like they don't allow for expats traveling. Like they're completely rigid in expecting that you should only be posting from your home IP and there is absolutely no notification option like with one's credit cards when one travels, to inform them that one is going to travel and to please expect the access to the accounts to be from different IPs.

I think that the existence and role of VPS will also increase.
The wall of information is restricted by proxy, firewall, filter software,
but we believe that services based on remote connection are promising.
Cyber coins (BitCoin, etc) 's billing system beyond national borders has advantages over organization limited use.
High commission can be reduced.
It is a strange story that a different fee will be collected to obtain the same information by country.
A country with the lowest electricity price will enclose the block chain and become a part of RedCoin .....

This is really nice that VPS helps us in many different ways. In this era the computational power and space has tremendously increased, and the unused power of the systems goes to waste. I think all these companies at least should start by giving free vps like one those who give free hosting.
