Web Hosting Cobranding Issue

Has anyone become aware of the massive web hosting cobranding out there? It's getting somewhat irritating and inconvenient as well. It's hard to find a free hosting that really offers quality. There are lots of hosting companies out there, whether paid or free hard to decide and to make up my mind! # In dilemma...

It struck me too Uni. And yes, it's irritating. Particularly when one has freshly landed at the Website and all of a sudden there's that chime ping and up pops someone who wants to chat with you regarding to what you need to know in order to make the Website their business. Those chimes are all the same and equally irritating. I'd say they're also a dead giveaway of something that is VERY sterile and automated, and a good expectation of what the service is going to be like. I'd imagine one would get the Website very fast, and then when trouble starts, take a number.

Interesting that you should mention this Ogah. I've been reading reviews, including of Bluehost, and that was one of the reviews where the guy says that the cpanel that Bluehost offers is misleading. It differs from package to package and Bluehost is not upfront about the differences.

Just imagine someone forking out dollars for paid hosting with Bluehost, expecting cPanel and then getting a limited cPanel - AFTER payment.

I think one would have to travel VERY far to find a place like Gigarank - for sure where cPanel IS cPanel!

The misleading thing is they write cpanel intending control panel =D. So instead of the real cPanel you will get Vista Panel which is not the same. 80% of the free web hosting uses Vista Panel and they're just copies one of another. You can search free reseller hosting and find them.

yup Genesis, cpanel is cPanel that accessed by domainname/cpanel or domainname:2082 or domainname:2083 URL, not subdomain cpanel.domainname :)

there are 3 big free reseller hosting provider:
1. byet. they use vista panel and have themes like cPanel X3
2. youhosting. their reseller said in promotion as cpanel.
3. runhosting/awardspace. i dont know their control panel name

After my enduring and laborious search on the net, you might notice their similarity in common; the username: cloudza-XXXXXXX and wilips-XXXXXXX etc. It's pretty clear, in addition, their advertising, or the sign up email that reads: Like Us - Byet Hosting!

And, yes, the VistaPanel resembling Cpanel is also particularly hostile. So from my search experience, its always vital to add: Cpanel 11 in the searchbar and read user reviews! In actual fact, VistaPanel is not that bad, its just that it diminishes LOTS of noteworthy features from the "real" cpanel, which I tend to call it the "pseudo cpanel"!

True. But if a host who is flogging its services is trying to cash in marketing wise with cPanel, when in fact it's a VistaPanel, that to me is dishonest. I wouldn't trust that provider. When I read that review, it put me right off Blue Host. I also picked up on reviews that it is slow. When one gets to that BIG level host wise, I'm almost certain they're hiding many things, like having fast and not so fast servers, and some finding themselves in a not that very fast environment whereas others do.

1. byet, their fake cPanel can scammed people
2. youhosting, worst web hosting provider where fools their user that said the server get ddos where it's overload or down
3. worst auto-installer

Byet? Lol, imagine you typed a bunch of article and when the time that you need to publish your work, everthing is gone as if you just refreshed the page (when their ckattempt=1 appends on your url). I emailed their support and they said that it is their antibot script. That thing forced me to join gigarank

Your should always check the refund policy before signing up to pay anywhere.

Also, read reviews. It may not help in a world where you can get paid to write good reviews, but it doesn't hurt either.

Finally, it's best to sign up on their forms and ask their users directly on how the hosting is.

If all else fails, get the cheapest plan and try for one month before committing.

It seemed great to use wordpress but after a while it's getting really unreliable.. That is one of the reason I have been searching alternatives for free hosting and want to test gigarocket to see if all the good advertising is true.
Hopefully it's the Website host you're referring to as unreliable. In my own experience I find WordPress can be as unreliable or as reliable as you want it to be. For me mostly it's always been reliable. I create static Websites out of it, disable comments, and keep things as simple as I can theme and plugin wise. The lack of reliability in my experience more often than not comes with conflicting plugins and themes that aren't that reliable. I source all of my plugins and themes from the WordPress https://wordpress.org. Doesn't mean it's perfect, one should still be careful to check it out, but at least the plugins and themes with wordpress.org have been audited, and there is a good way of checking the reviews and support requests and when last they have been updated.

GigaRocket has been around in all shapes and forms since 2005 and the owner - DJB (Chris) - has prided himself in providing high standard reliable shared cpanel hosting with softaculous. There's always been an element of fun and learning and we've been very lucky to have an above average qualified Linux administrator in un4skaken. He and DJB have been doing this together since 2005. I came on board in 2010. It first started as stonerocket.net in 2005 - eventually became Gigalicious, GigaRank and now GigaRocket. You're in for a good experience for sure.

:friends: ???
????I think so from the few posts I have read on the forum so far the community seems really great and fun to hang around. You accomplish what few have, people that genuinely likes your work and post and write down threads and comments with substance to help improve the experience. Keep up the good work!

One of the things I am really enjoying so far is that even after I am able to get the host service be able to share my experience and improve the way I setup my website if it gives any problems or issue with community support.

I have a curiosity why changing so many times of name? community suggestion, domain problems or there are other reasons? Because one of the things I notive right away, is that even if the name of the service is gigarocket many people on the forum still mention gigarank and that in the beginning is a bit strange since it makes you think they are two different things.

Agreed @Keesher. A sense of community and learning new things provide for lots of learning and a feeling of community.
