My experiences are limited to phpBB, myBB and vBulletin. I don't like vBulletin at all. Everything feels always as though it is in the wrong place. I'm always looking for posts. It also has too many bells and whistles that always seem to trip me up.

I'd say phpBB and myBB are both great forum platforms. I like it that they are simple and easy to install. PhpBB comes with a longer history and experience, but myBB is a bit more creatively designed. For ACP I prefer phpBB. But I'm happy and comfortable with both platforms.

I like phpBB. Probably because I've been used to it for a long while. I'm not used to myBB yet.

bbPress and phpBB are my favourite forums platforms. Used phpBB in many projects.

Vbulletin is paid (expensive) and requires a bit of resources - but all the bigger forums use it.

I like mybb and i used all source code forum.

SMF for me. Free with lots of free plugins and easily configured to my past needs.

Built an entire collaboration tool for telecommuting workforce.

I like XenForo better because it's professional and it's really easy to use.

And if you like forum source with pay fees, you can choose: vbb or xenforo or ipb
