For some reason I think that recent FPS are much more boring than older FPS from end of 90's or beginning of 2000's ... I miss those old Q3A and Half Life times!

What does the abbreviation FPS stand for? Can you please explain? Can you write abbreviations out in full please, including Q3A.

In recent years, perhaps the game I liked most is Crysis. But nothing beats half life and quake series.

I have started to lose interest in the recent FPS games like Call Of Duty and Battlefield. I would rather play the older FPS games like Metroid Prime or Doom. The only recent FPS that I sort of liked was Black Ops 2 however I do play a lot of TF2 which still gets up dates after all these years.

In past years, I still love the crisis series. The immersive gameplay, the story and the graphics we're the best. It's sad that crytek is not making a sequel anymore :(

Counter Strike: Global Offensive !
For me this is the best FPS ever ! You receive items, you trade them on the marketplace, you get new skins for your guns, it's just awesome !

CSGO is great and all but the skins you get for free from drops looks like they came out of the bin. You never get anything good so you would have to dip into your pockets in order to get some sweet skins. But the game play is fun and the skins are sort of an added bonus.

Personally I enjoy TF2 more than CS:GO as not only are there different weapons but each weapon adds a different way you can play. For example, when you play as the "soldier" who uses a rocket launcher, you can use different rocket launchers and each one has different attributes which allow you to play in different ways. One of the rocket launchers is called the "direct hit" where you must hit a target to do damage instead of shooting at there feet and letting the blast damage injure them as blast damage is greatly reduced.

And also you can get skins for them too, although I don't care about the skins.

Steam offers skins to most of their games, which means that you can trade items for another game item if you need some money to buy skins in i.e. CS:GO.

However, I think that the new generation FPS games are quite bad, without any good story line, but full in game effects and good graphics.

In recent years, I have played in many FPS and I only can say that Crysis series are good FPS'es.
We can think about coming Fallout 4, which can be great.

Q1- sounds, climate
Q3- multiplayer map ballance, SPEED!!, instagib mode
BF4- all in one overall my personal choice - modern graphic, very good sounds, all in one warfare package - (ground, sea, air vehicles)

Cod, battlefield died

I agree with you, but why do you think that?

i think its due to their lack of originality and how each game is pretty much the same but just with new graphics.
