There are a few good registrars available and it would depend for how long you will be locking the domain in. I.e. if for a longer period of time, the domain will be cheaper.
Looks as though namecheap.com seems to be good value for money these days. So you may find good value there.
Cheapest of course are free domains. I've had great success with .tk. But there are others available as well.
Ah right. That could be a problem Goku. Maybe you should take the free sub-forum that we have at Gigalicous like yourname.gi9.co. Or get a free .tk domain name.
dot.tk works well for me. I haven't got to the fancy stage yet of wanting to look extra good. I think when one does get professional, .com is the best, followed by .net, .org. I also like the country abbreviations like .co.uk. I probably will go for .co.uk one when I'm looking for a serious domain.
I`ve got a couple of domains with namecheap myself. I use around registrars, generally who has the best deal on the time of wanting to register a new domain.
thanks for suggestions. a friend suggested DNS service provided by http://freedns.afraid.org where one can register .uk.to and thousands of others free. They have other DNS records you can play with like AAAA, CNAME etc
So do I tieipestora. That's why I like .tk as well. I find dot.tk very simple, FAST, easy and the right size for me. If I were to go professional however, I'd probably go for .com.
