Why you should never use 000WebHost

Guys please stay away from this site if you use it... It's one of the worst ones out there.

I Will give you some Information about them:
-Databases are down constantly and sometimes your Website is offline for minuites possibly some hours.
-Service is Super Slow on there!
-Website Speed is slow and everything that loads takes forever sometimes.
-If you have Medium Traffic it sometimes goes offline just because of that.
-They always ask you to pay more when they suck in general.
-Staff Response is unhelpful and garbage.

It is only used because it is FREE, But this is junk Webhost. If you need a Webhost GigaRank is probably the answer. Im not being Biased that's the honest truth. If you want to be restricted but get something better than 000Webhost, IcyBoards may be the way to go for your forum. But i really don't prefer IcyBoards or 000Webhost. IcyBoards you can't upload your own plugins, Some MyBB Themes don't work it's pretty bad but not worse than 000Webhost. No matter what it's your choice and i can't stop anyone so do you... But these are my opinions and thoughts. :good:

I agree with you; 000webhost is terrible, if you leave a web page up for a while without logging in they delete everything and deactivate your account and instead throw up advertisements. The control panel is terrible and the over all feel of it is cheap and amateur.

My experience with 000webhosting was terrible and I would never recommend it to anybody.

I have had issues with them as well a few years ago - my pages were blacklisted.

The best hosters I have used are Gigarank and 50Webs (even though their home page looks like it was designed by a carpetbagging market droid - don't let it disuade you).

They use old technology for their free accounts to the extent that it is impossible to FTP pages to the Website. Last I tried a year ago, I tried just after they had had the huge scandal with user names and passwords that had been hacked. It was quite shocking at the time as it turned out they didn't encrypt the passwords. At any rate, they then came up with a new look, and I thought to try again, and it was as bad as before with old software, old panel and FTP that was still not working. I'm now wondering whether the password scandal was just a hoax to promote their service.

I also know for a fact hackers favour 000Webhost because of anonymity. They use it for their one-page hacker pages. So one finds oneself surrounded by hackers - not good company for one's Website.

I only used them once, and indeed they are using pretty old technology like Genesis said. Their database making is not even instant, you have to wait for like 24 hours or even more before it gets created. So all in all, if you're in a rush in making something and decided to host it on a free hosting, 000webhost is a really bad choice. Because of the delay in the database making, and very old technology in managing their hosted accounts.

I never tried the paid ones, but maybe they use newer and latest technology, since its paid. It would be disappointing if they use both old technology in paid and free hostings.

Honestly having free hosting may have issues, especially if there are no conditions in return, not like this site, as it requires posts for free hosting, meaning, this site maintains the high quality and standard even though it is free of charge.

It's good to test some web app and then delete it with no risk.

But it's true. Slow and DB sometimes are down.

Not to defend 000webhost, but sure the slow response times and SQL outages are probably caused by abusers of the service.

I have used them for a wile aswell, just for testing purposes, and like all you guys i was totally disappointed, but hey.. is free.. and for static websites, is pretty ok.

Yes I Completly Understand I Wanted To Use 000WebHost Cause It Was Free But I Could Not Upload Anything To It, It Was So Anonying Thats Why Im Here I Hope I Like The Servers Here

At least it's free, so it's good for testing sites

But you are right. Recently there have been problems with uploading files, it's so slow.

The problem with 50 webs is that the free version doesnt allow php, how does that make sense

Really????? How old is this post and/or how long ago did you use 000webhost?? It is by far the best host I have ever used. I wouldn't even consider going to paid hosting because of how reliable it has been for me.

Believe me, I am not biased at all. Any host that has a fake, nerdy, female on the front page is an immidiate turnoff for me. A year ago the services sucked bad and I will give you guys that, but I have at least 3 accounts all maxed out and they have never been down.

I used it for my personal site, I use it for a server I run. It has never failed me.

Combine it with freenom and you have a killer unbeatable free setup!

I've used many many hosts before that one as well.

5freehosting used to be good until they updated removing free domains and practically ruining service. I don't know what they did, but I've had many major security leaks with them too. And it seems now they are an ecommerce website now??

Hostinate was also a killer site, until they created a new hosting service and decided to stop fixing it. I used hostinate to host domains for 5freehosting LOL.

Awardspace never worked well

000webhosting is now group of hostinger, which is by far the worst hosting provider, thus free xyz domain was nice from them.

000webhosting used to be very slow, unreliable, they advertise themselves with cPanel, which is by far the worst lie ever. 000webhosting rejected multiple demands about php version which was the oldest one. I don't think that anything has changed nowadays. Presumably they still have the worst support, worst hosting service on the market. It is very limited, which is not enough for someone who wants to do lots on their hosting. 000webhosting is automatic, and they dont controll what is on their servers, if they see large amount of activity, they just take you down without anything.

Plus they had data breach, which puts them into shade, no respect for them.

Interesting. Well it's definitely different from what you describe there.

They support up to PHP 7.1 (from 5.3-7.1)

They sure don't use cPanel, but their interface is actually quite nice. It doesn't look cheap by any means.

They are also not in any way slow. I run a forum with a community of 14 total members, and 6 max online at once. No one has issues with lag or errors, and I run the same software this very site runs: MyBB.

Edit:

Not to mention you can DISABLE the 000webhost banner and not have any ads whatsoever. It's been good for me, and I haven't had a single complaint.

To clarify, the only reason I signed up with 000webhost was because I THOUGHT I was signing up for a free VPS with SSH access... what I got appears to be a shared hosting account with no SSH access. And no domain based FTP access, for whatever that's worth.

I already have a shared hosting reseller platform and can deploy my own cPanel hosting accounts at will, so I don't need a free shared hosting account.

What i DO need, is to become a better web host / developer by learning how to deploy my own server configurations on a VPS / Dedicated server environment, via command line first, GUI second.

And that's why I'm here. :)

So when I reach my quality post quota for VPS, you can bet I will be pointing nameservers for justmight.work over to GigaRank servers.. Can't wait

Exactly what I'm talking about :)

Two years ago they were TERRIBLE. No doubt about it. 100% terrible.

They've redesigned, have a new control panel, the usage limits are WAY higher (I think it's like 500 requests per minute gets it suspended), and quite simply it just works.

Oh, it also isn't too slow. And FTP works just fine, along with the in-browser file manager.

That's because Hostinger owns 000webhost and Hosting24 (000webhost's paid department).

Have you ever used any other provider? I doubt it. :dodgy:
000webhost may have had a face-lift recently, modernizing their website and client area, but the service is still the same crappy one it has always been - I know that because I've been trying to use it for test projects for years...which I've always had to move to other free hosts due to 000webhost being absolute sh*t.
