Ever since the data breach attack, I have been advising people not to use 000webhost, and to use GigaRank. Hostinger is as bad.
That's because Hostinger owns 000webhost and Hosting24 (000webhost's paid department).

Really????? How old is this post and/or how long ago did you use 000webhost?? It is by far the best host I have ever used. I wouldn't even consider going to paid hosting because of how reliable it has been for me.

Believe me, I am not biased at all. Any host that has a fake, nerdy, female on the front page is an immidiate turnoff for me. A year ago the services sucked bad and I will give you guys that, but I have at least 3 accounts all maxed out and they have never been down.

I used it for my personal site, I use it for a server I run. It has never failed me.

Combine it with freenom and you have a killer unbeatable free setup!

Edit:

I've used many many hosts before that one as well.

5freehosting used to be good until they updated removing free domains and practically ruining service. I don't know what they did, but I've had many major security leaks with them too. And it seems now they are an ecommerce website now??

Hostinate was also a killer site, until they created a new hosting service and decided to stop fixing it. I used hostinate to host domains for 5freehosting LOL.

Awardspace never worked well

freewebhostingarea is too limited

I've never used gigarank before! Maybe they'll be good :)
Have you ever used any other provider? I doubt it. :dodgy:
000webhost may have had a face-lift recently, modernizing their website and client area, but the service is still the same crappy one it has always been - I know that because I've been trying to use it for test projects for years...which I've always had to move to other free hosts due to 000webhost being absolute sh*t.

I think you missed the last three paragraphs.

I've used hostinate, free web hosting area, award space, 5freehosting. And my service with 000webhost has always been top notch, maybe I'm just lucky? I use hosting here and so far I've noticed no significant difference. I also host a forums on 000webhost and it's not slow.. At all.

Sure their panel lacks a few things, but service wise I've had no problems with them.

I used their free hosting service years ago but eventually stopped using them for several seasons.

01. They started adding a big pop up ad about their service randomly. I saw this huge ad several times in my sites.

02. Running Wordpress Blogs are next to impossible there because of restrictions they have for free hosting.

03. Servers are always slow. Probbly becaue of too many sites hosted in same server.

04. They have this referral service which is a joke. If they are willing to run a fake referral service you can trust them less with your important stuff.

05. I noticed some of their ip addresses already banned by various IPS around the world and added to some mail black lists.

06. Because of #02 and #05, it becomes not so good place to host your important sites.

I think still they are okey for simple blog scrpits and static web sites.

The last three paragraphs weren't there when I replied - I probably posted my reply while you were editing the post, but I was in a hurry and didn't check for edits.

All the hosts you mention are free services, even worse than 000webhost - I've tried both Awardspace and FreeWebHostingArea; I suggest you try a real provider who uses cPanel (or at least DirectAdmin), Softaculous and LiteSpeed. There are some cheap yet decent ones around.

Me to have used many free services, 000webhost is also one of them, not much reliable but ok for testing purpose and hands on.
you can use others like wdhms byet host and so on.

At the moment I think Gigarank has the best free shared hosting package offered by any free web hosting provider out there. I have had a Wordpress Blog here since 2015 and I still have it without a problem. This is not something we can tell about many of those free providers out there. Specailly when it comes to shared hosting. Before my favorite shared hosting provider was Frihost. Sadly the owner has lost interest in the project so I think it's days are numbered.

I recently get 500 error server too, anda database recently down to.
I didnt like their control panel, because i always use the CPANEL for my server.

I am not using 000webhost, because I am having difficulty maintaining my account. I will monitor the future of 000webhost.
15 million sites will be one market. Now I can not control it.
000webhost will gather a lot of advertisements.

They were banned many years ago from webhostingtalk. No one thought they were a serious host at the time. While they may not be a very good host, they are at least a stable one with a sustainable business model. They do the same thing that onesite.co does - when user accounts use too much CPU or sever memory they are suspended without warning and told to upgrade to paid accounts. A competent host knows how to balance their server load without resorting to that. But that's part of their business model - convert free clients to paid clients.

I agree though, you'd be crazy to upgrade a site on 000, especially after experiencing how poor quality their hosting service is first-hand.

Definitely, 000webhost is ALWAYS unstable.
I got a website with 000webhost and when I abandoned the site for a week and it's gone, forever. And I can't even get back to their Custom Panel to start a new website.
IT IS SIMPLY HORRIBLE, except for its free SSL...
EDIT:
One more thing...
Actually 000webhost, youhosting (provides free reseller hosting, and was found that its hosting websites were all unavailable for sign up), Hostinger (international) , hosting24 are actually the same thing. The only difference is price. And, in the end, you'll get your free site upgraded in order to keep it up, running.

Now, 000webhost is provider by Hostinger (Spain) and it looks great but if I need an vps or hosting i will choose GigaRocket....

Never use 000webhost for primary sites, no cpanel, no softaculous, and what is worst is I can't upload my custom scripts to the server.

Unfortunately I have to agree with a lot of people in this forum. 000WebHost, seemed like a good solution in my second year of Computer Science while trying to build a simple website that I had to deploy somewhere. I soon realized that if you signed up for free, you were entirely on your own. And even if you paid support was minimal. The interface is somewhat irritating and after a couple of attempts to make some use of it, I gave up. It might be convenient for complete newbies to deploy a simple website and see how things work, but not for long. After a month of playing around, I suggest junior programmers switch to something a little more reliable.

Can't agree with you more! It should be expected however, that the service won't be high quality seeing as they provide free hosting very publicly (they'll pop up on the front page of Google if you search 'free hosting').

Contrary to what other people might say, I think the interface is really easy to use (unless they give a different interface for paid users -- I had a cheap plan with them) from the time I spent with them.
