Who will be downloading and trying out the Windows 10 Preview version?

Join the Windows Insider Program so you can be part of every key moment along the way as we create Windows 10. You'll get Windows 10 Technical Preview, all the builds as soon as they're available, and an easy-to-use feedback app.

That looks like a proper OS to use after Windows 7. I am going to wait for Consumer Preview or however they will call the nearly-release version.

I have read somewhere, that the Developer Preview version will be available till 15th August, could anyone confirm that informaiton? I cannot find the source where I read that information :(

I think I read somewhere that the technical preview version will be available to the 15th April 2015, the consumer preview version will be available on the 1st April 2015.

I probably will do the same. There will be opportunity to test games and programs on it.

Think I'll stick with Windows 7 for now. Wait until they've debugged Windows 10 a number of times to see what the verdict is.

I think I'll stick with W8 right now. I don't like that they've integrated live tiles with the home button and the fact that they made "start" available only to those has a touch screen.

I think it is a great operating system, but it is not revolution, if somebody uses Windows 8.1.

Start Menu has similar colour than our wallpaper.

It is possible to run Modern UI apps in Windows Desktop now.
Installation is very short and it is possible to install it in 20 minutes (I use SSD drive).
Unfortunatelly, mamy apps is not compatibile with it (for example Internet Security software).

I wouldn't recommend windows 10 for playing games as there are no drivers yet for it. Gamers who don't want to play with old drivers must wait untill april for the consumer preview.

@iGdesigner, it is not recommended to use Windows 10 as our main operating system, so if we use it as main system, we should realise, that everything won`t work excellent.
If somebody install Windows 10 as a Virtual Machine, he won`t install games and play them on it. If somebody want to play games on Windows 10, he should wait for final release, due to software compatibility.

I always tend to wait until all the bugs have been worked out and the verdict is fully out on any operating software. I have a feeling I'll still be on Windows 7 when Microsoft gets to Windows 12. And I guess it will pull out its trick again of saying - no more support for Windows 7 guys. We want you to buy our new operating software.

I'm happy with Windows 7. For now. But can see technical hardware and software developments going so fast in a completely different direction that probably very soon even Windows 10 will no longer be suitable.

You can still install windows 10 and old graphic drivers, you can play games on technical preview version, but it is way harder than expected to be. I am happy with Windows 7 too, going to wait for the consumer preview of windows 10.

I have downloaded the preview of win 10, I did not install yet because I don't want to lose my win 7 installation; so I'll have to get a spare machine to try this new win 10 preview and see how well will Microsoft perform on it's next gen OS.

The features looks pretty and interesting; the interactivity seems well set.

I am using this OS. I am actually dual-booting, but it is not good for gaming. I use Windows 8.1 for coding and gaming, and windows 10 tech preview for other stuff. Who's noticed some(most) programs slow down when using Windows 10 Technical Preview? I hope the consumer preview fixes this. I also like their actually trying to compete with OSX and Linux now. Virtual desktops(workspaces)? Good job microsoft. Transforming metro into a desktop friendly system - nice job, again microsoft. They did do a good job cleaning up after the mess they made with Windows 8. However, the technical preview is compatible with some games, for example, Minecraft(even the latest version), and Terraria(still the latest version). Well, at least they didn't mess up the .NET framework!
