Now i know its era of windows 10 but still , its unstable and buggy and majority is on one of these OS , so my question is that which one is better for use , for my own use , 8 proved to be best , most stable no bugs but 8.1 was little too glitchy and had issues , so in the light of this , which one do you recommend and why ?

Windows 2000 or XP. The rest are buggy and not worth the effort of installing. I use 7, but can't stand its bloat and slowness compared to the others. Each new one gets worse

Choose XP if you never plan on surfing the net.

7 would be ideal for general purpose.

Between 8 and 8.1 choose 8.1 - I have them on my laptops, but I chose it mainly for the better touch screen support till 10 release.

Why? I surf the net with it every day. No issues at all. Are you talking about the so called security issues that won't be updated? If you are, those things don't exist any more. The put them in win7 , and 8 now

No, I`m talking about HDD breaker issues and that it won`t last more than 1 month by surfing the net.

What??? Man, don't know what you are talking about.

I searched google for HDD breaker. Its a tool used to shred your hard drive. Don't see what that has to do with surfing the net.

you cannot judge an operating system based on a beta release. a beta release is supposed to be buggy.
regarding the os. i recommend windows 7 for daily use. during my test period of windows 10 insider preview ,i have not came across any majors bugs. (depends of your usage and hardware) . in my experience windows 10 seems faster and lightweight compared to 7. if you can wait till july , go for 10. but if you want a bug less version , then wait for sp1 release.

Ummm, Every windows operating system since XP has been buggy even after full release. Windows 8 was first designed and released for mobile devices and then released to the PC. it was buggy so they changed it and sent out 8.1. Again still buggy and crashes all the time. Window 10 is supposed to fix those issues, but it won't. They are rolling out O/S's faster then they can test and fix issues. In other words, the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.

I have used 8, 8.1 and 10. For me, 8 was extremely glitch, 8.1 was better with fewer hiccups, and 10 has proven to be better than both. I guess the problems that one has depends on the system that is being used; therefore, it is really hard to say which is best for you or compare with others. I have found no glitches with Windows 10 so far, and I am beginning to like it better than Windows 7.

They fixed a lot of things in w10. windows 10 is still working smoothly on my 12 years old pentium4 computer with 2 gb ddr2 ram.

But i will choose 8.1 over 8 even though there's not enough changes happen

As far as I understand w10 is to Windows 10 as Windows 8.1 is to 8. The one is an upgrade over the other. For the better. I doubt any person would choose Windows 8.

Anyway, i beg to disagree that windows 10 is unstable. It runs more smoothly than its predecessors especially with older machines. Bug fixes are always released through updates.

Really difficult to keep this thread on topic. It's about a choice between Windows 8.0 and 8.1. Not Windows 10.

Second time this has happened. Probably time to close it. :p
