WordPress update problem

With a WordPress site from a client I have an update problem. I can download and install new plugins throught WP without any problems. But when I want to update a plugin that is already installed it can't delete several files and thereby can't perform the update. I have that same problem with the core. Is there a wrong CHMOD some where or what can be the problem?

I've heard so many people battling with this problem. Mostly I've heard that it is better to install a new version fresh, and only import the contents of the Website, i.e. ensure that a new software is not loaded over a previous version software.

You mean with a mysql dumb?

I could do the past updates, but for what ever reason it doesn't update to 3.6.

True. If you Google it however, you'll notice how many bugs there are. They haven't perfected it yet. I guess they still have to find a perfect place where plug-ins and main software and databases are in perfect sync so that when the one is upgraded, all the other talk in the same language.

Would probably be hard work, but have you thought about removing everything, then installing 3.6 fresh. And then upload/import the data files? Install the plug-ins from scratch? I also read somewhere not to use an auto installer like Softaculous for the updating.
