I understand the trade-offs and I'm wondering if it's at all possible to successfully compile FF-46.0.1 on such an old system. If you ever tried, please let us know how it went.Peter said:As a web browser I use Iceweasel. It's exactly like Firefox except that it has a different name and logo. It has something to do with a disagreement between Mozilla and the way Debian was using the Firefox trademark, so Debian just decided to change the name
Because I use such an old version of Debian, and I haven't bothered trying to manually compile a later version of Firefox/Iceweasel, I'm stuck with version 3.5. It still works OK for most things but sometimes when I need a more up to date browser I start up Virtualbox where I have more recent versions of the software installed.

Using chrome browser.
