Hi,

Do you think its needed to do yearly refreshes to keep your pc running good? I've heard about it from some websites but Im not sure.

I think that you should refresh/clean up your computer once a month to make sure that it run smooth.

Once a month I believe it`s too much, unless you`re using windows xp and you can reduce the time to 2 weeks.
For newer versions of windows you can do a refresh between 6 months and 1 year but this only if you have a lot of programs installed.
Please notice that the disk defragment can also improve your pc overall performance.

I'm for refreshing once every three years. Mind you, I'm not a very messy computer user. And I do do periodic cleanups with the Windows cleanup tool.

Refresh to me means a total format of the hard disk and starting Windows fresh. Which for me is usually a major operation.

I've gotten away with 3 years on a windows 7 desktop that my family of 5 use. Monthly cleanups is the way to go.
