As long as you have a video card to support the 4k monitor. Otherwise it would like a normal monitor

Yeah and it might not work especially if you have the wrong graphics card for the wrong monitor since some monitors support AMD and others support AMD. I have an AMD r9 390 which are good for High resolution like 4K

Any monitor will support any video card, whether it is Intel, NVidia, or ATI (AMD). Some monitors will give you more options if you connect it to which ever they specify.

Not exactly because some monitors have AMD free sync or NVIDIA G-sync which can cause a few problems by using the alternative graphics card. That is what I have heard at least.

They can still work on any card, just that will be disabled or not found.

I would hope that you have either one of those features on your GPU that you would buy accordingly. Be a waste of money to have a NVidia G-Sync video card and you buy a monitor with free-sync.

Yeah my monitor has AMD free sync and not the NVIDIA G-sync it's just something to look out for when buying monitors to check if it has full support for the users Graphics card.

I have a screen resolution of 1440 x 900 on my main monitor as it is a old TV which is really annoying so i'm planning to get a new one soon.

Yea, some of the older TVs do not make very good monitors as the response time on them are so high. This can cause trailing.

Let us know what you get!

on my 21inch in the bedroom it's 1920 x 1080 (recommended)
but if I take it in the lounge & plug it into the 55inch tv it wont run above 1280 x 720 for some strange reason!

Currently, i use 22" (21.5") 1920x1080 monitor with IPS
But I am planning on buying 24" 4K monitor very soon, I think the bigger dpi will make the picture lot nicer and sharper.

I thought about snagging a few 4k monitors, then realized, there is really not that much that is running 4k yet. I am going to be giving it a few more years maybe and i am sure it will drop in price.

I'm currenty running on a 1366x768 display. I'm not quite sure what my mobile phone runs. And I also have a tablet (an iPad), but I'm not sure what display that runs on either, but I'm guessing it's rougly 1366x768 too.

I recently bought a budget laptop which has 1366*768 resolution. I was willing to go for 1080p but the cost was too high for my budget.
