Zip Archive Library Not Enabled

Duplicator is a magic wordpress tool for backing up and migrating Wordpress Websites. There are a number of us using it at Gigarank.

For the plugin to work it needs the Zip Archive Library enabled in Apache. It was previously loaded. But hasn't been ticked in the current version.

I managed to work my way around not having it when I used my Duplicator backups, but now that I want to create backups, Duplicator won't allow me to make a backup without the Zip Archive Library enabled.

Can you please enable the Zip Archive Library?

Thanks. :drinks:

Hey @"Genesis" :)

Please login to your cPanel and select "Select PHP Version" under "Software and Services"

Change your PHP Version to "5.6" an select modules you need. When you are done click "save" and "Set As Current"

Everything worked perfectly for setting 5.6 up with the Zip Archive Module, but something happened when the package started to build - maybe a permission issue.

This is what comes up and I tried it twice:

Never happened before and I used Duplicator very often before.

If you want to check what it could be Duplicator is really good with documentation:

Un4. I've used it for a long while without any issue. The plugin comes from a really great source. There is nothing wrong with the plugin's configuration. I haven't changed any configuration either. Only thing that has changed is Gigarank configuration.

I'll try other versions of php and see whether that works. Maybe the one it was originally set on or as close as to when it was working very well.

Thanks for sorting this out un4. :good:

Just for those who are about to use the Duplicator Plugin. In case this happens to you too. You need to go into your cPanel and PHP Version. Then click on the version 5.6. And it should come up with options. You need to set the max-execution time to 120 plus or minus. The Duplicator Plugin needs extra time to build the backup package than what is allowed for by default.

I'm probably going to be guilty of cross posting tonight, but want to add here that I found an alternative to the Duplicator Plugin for Gigarank WordPress Backups and Migration. It's a BRILLIANT alternative as when one works with the advanced options of the plugin, it solves the execution time problem I had with Duplicator.

It's also simpler to use. Like someone with lots of thought for USER-FRIENLY has created and set it up:

WP Clone by WP Academy

One can use it as a backup tool, as well as clone and migrate WordPress sites to other servers.
